While Krumm's mostly a happy-go-lucky guy, he gets kind of depressed if he's ignored too much (Krumm's Pimple) but is still capable of being on his own (Krumm Goes Hollywood). He loves his Dad and gets along well with Horvak, and although Krumm knows he can always go home, Krumm maintains that he'd rather find his own path which is partly why he doesn't ever leave the Academy for good despite the hardships he sometimes encounters. The friendships he forms with Oblina and Ickis also go a long way towards explaining why Krumm ultimately rejects the idea of becoming a drop-out. At the end of the day, he'd rather be with his buddies even if he's not the center of attention like in A Perfect World.Krumm loved his parents. Real Monsters Fanficby Save FearowAuthor's Note: I wanted to do another story set in the Season 1 time-frame, so this adventure takes places during November of 1994. I'm one of those fans who considers "Monsters, Get Real" to be the series debut, since it was an extended version of the pilot episode they pitched to Nickelodeon (so Ickis losing the manual in Bradley's room probly happened in September of that year, whereas "The Switching Hour" explicitly takes place during Halloween.) Unlike most Season 1 episodes, the Halloween mix-up is never mentioned again in-series, although I always felt it was a plot that could have been expanded upon. The little boy Nicky who accidentally spent a day attending the Gromble's Academy in disguise is cautioned by Oblina to never bring up the adventure again, but the older brother Jake doesn't receive such advice (and HE was the one who got spooked by Ickis looming.) It makes you wonder if maybe Simon didn't choose

They don't give alot of canon focus to the Academy team, "The Five Faces Of Ickis" really only confirms that a minor character, Grelch the tomboy who scared her own shadow from "The Switching Hour", is their pitcher but the rest of the line-up is left to the viewer's imagination (and judging by Slickis' banter one can easily infer that he was also a pitcher back in the day.) I wanted to have the Gromble's students play positions that suited both their personalities and their athletic aptitude. The Snorch is good enough at sports to qualify for the wave-riding competition but he isn't likely to join a team, so he doesn't participate in Sewerball (and neither does Zimbo.) Some of the other characters are content to either be in the pep squad (Snav, Blib, and Smeldra all cheer during home games) or stand in the bleachers.

Because there was an interest in fanfics featuring "Ickis and other students" I decided to go with a homage to courtroom drama.It was one of the hottest days of the year, so of course these lucky students were given the distinct honor of sitting in a cramped room until they reached an uninamous decision. The only bright spot was that the assignment looked to be an easy one, it was obvious that the Snorch had been the one to pour ink into the Gromble's bathtub. All the evidence pointed to him (the golden nosehair left at the scene of the crime, the eyewitness testimony from Boral, etc.) so once they finished voting guilty, all the students would be free to return to their normal lives.
